何事もスピード感のある現代にあって、お茶のお点前を拝見し、抹茶をいただく時間は、心を癒すひとときとなることでしょう。

In the world of Japanese tea ceremony, there is a phrase, “shichu no sankyo ( a house in a town that looks as if it were in a mountain )” Enjoying a tea ceremony, being freed from daily life, in a thatched hut that appears as if it were in a mountain village even though it is actually in a town…it brings about a state of mind that Japanese have valued.

At Kagurazaka Houan, we would like to welcome you, in the spirit of “ichigo ichie (once-in-a-lifetime opportunity ) ”,

whereby one treasures every meeting as a singular event as you pass through our roji (garden) to our chashitsu (tea house) and as you spend your time at the teahouse.
